Ty Canol view allotment history
Just a little history about our allotment that I've found. As you know the Ty Canol estate was built in the 80s. But before that it was a farm. Ty Canol means middle house and on the English records it is listed as middle house. Dealing with Mares Tail
If you are intending to spray MT, the best time to deal with it is when it at full height so the foliage absorbs it. You can burn it out or, if you're lucky, dig beneath the roots. An effective treatment is Ammonium Sulfamate. This is a Compost Accelerator which actually converts weeds into an organic fertilizer. The ground should be ready for replanting in around 6 weeks. Alternatively, cover over and leave for a season.
